Mummy and Daddy,
What to tell you? What to tell you? Can I just say that this is the coolest thing I've ever done. Truth. Why haven't I ALWAYS been doing this?!??!?! There have been so many countless people that have been put in our path. We're praying roughly 36 times a day for people to teach ( I may or may not have been keeping a tally ) and the Lord sends us people to teach within moments of our prayers!! This week alone we invited six people to be baptized and we scheduled three of them...two of which were in the same day! What the heck!!! Our district leader asks us each night, "Are you in safe? Did you talk to everyone?" and instead of asking "DID you invite anyone to be baptized?" he asks, "HOW MANY people did you invite today to be baptized?" Apparently we're the leading companionship in the zone, and that just proves to me how incredible the Lord is. This is HIS work. I don't have a clue how to be a missionary, but I plead for Him to help me and magically we find these golden people, who just happen to be searching for a local church, who just happen to have a love for the Savior, and who magically feel the influence of the Holy Ghost telling them that what we teach is true. People, these are not mere coincidences!!! THESE ARE MIRACLES, and I get to be a part of it. How cool is that! :D
A few days ago, we prayed, yet again, to find someone who is in desperate need of the gospel. BAM! A car parked next to us, a man got out of the car, we introduced ourselves, he leaned up against the "bonnet" of his car and said, "Alright, I'm listening." This man's name is Marc. He's a pirate....minus the peg leg and parrot. Hello world, I met a pirate....I should put that on the Life List so I can cross it off. We chatted for quite some time about eternal families and God being our Heavenly Father. We set up another appointment and went on our merry way. We went to his flat the next day.....he "flogged".....no one home! BLAST! However, the following morning, we received a telephone call as we were heading out to street contact. It was Marc!!!!! He asked us if we had any free time. In about five seconds we were knocking at his door! We went out into the "garden" and chatted about his life. Long story short, he's gone through a lot, and he's currently fighting for custody of his little daughter. We invited him to be baptized. He knew it was what he needed to do. SO COOL! No one calls us.....except the nappy elders!!!!!! This never happens!!! BAM! MIRACLE! NEXT!
As for the driving lesson. Last week "Craig" came to give me my lesson. He pulled out onto the road in his manual stick shift vehicle, and said, "Alright, do you have your Provincial License?" "Say what now?" Super duper long story short we sat in his car forever on the phone with various people trying to resolve this "issue."The story ends with Sister Owen and myself on the side of the road in a cloud of dust....fail. However, I was not discouraged. Yes it was the story of my life, but I figured, had Craig let me drive the stick shift (which I do NOT know how to operate) on the left side of the narrow road, at full speed, I'm positive I would have killed someone. BAM! MIRACLE! NEXT! :D Instead I did my driving lesson with "Paul," who had a lovely automatic automobile, and certified me to drive after ONE lesson. Mission rules require me to take TWO lessons, but I checked with the mission office....BAM! I only have to pay for the one lesson! BAM! MIRACLE! NEXT!
So remember the stress of my life that I couldn't remember my pin number? Remember how people don't take credit cards...just cash or "chip and pin" cards...truth. Remember how I stood in front of the ATM and said, "Father, I don't remember my PIN. I need $20.00 for my driving lesson....please help me!" Remember how the number rolled into my head. Remember how I punched them in and the happy bills I needed for my lessons popped out of the machine!?!?!??!?! Sister Owen," What the!?!?!? You're kidding me!!"
I yelled, "What can I say? The church is TRUE!" BAM! MIRACLE! NEXT!
In other good news, the MoTab music restriction has been lifted! Now we can listen to any music that invites the spirit! That includes EFY cds, The Prince of Egypt, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, etc...etc... Just a thought :D
I love hearing about what's happening back home. I LOVE that people are reading my blog!!! SUCCESS!!!! Read on, all! Tell your friends!!! I'm here all week :D
Mum...Dad...know that I love you SO much! Thank you for letting me come here. It's so worth it. Missing you! MMMWWWAH!!
Love
Your Sister Stephanie White
